BOWLING

NATIONAL

CHAMPIONSHIPS

THE 2015 Bahamas Bowling Championships is set for May 18-31 at Mario’s Bowling and Entertainment Centre.. May 30 has been dubbed: ‘Round of 18’ Super Saturday’ and Sunday, May 31 is ‘Championship Sunday.’ Application forms and other details will follow soon.

RUGBY

NATIONAL TEAM GAME

THE Bahamas Rugby Union is slated to hold a game 3pm Saturday at the Winton Rugby Centre for the players travelling on the men’s national team. The national team will travel to the Turks and Caicos in Providenciales April 18. If the team wins their division, they will be promoted back up to the North Caribbean Division 1.

The remaining schedule for the BRU is as follows:

April 25 - Heineken Cup playoffs - Freeport vs Cuckoos Buccaneeers vs Baillou

May 2 - Heineken Cup final

TRACK

STAR CLASSIC

THE first Star Kids Classic will be held at the Thomas A Robinson Track and Field 9am Saturday. The event, hosted by the Star Trackers Track Club, will be held for competitors under-6 to under-16.

BOWLING

NASSAU OPEN

CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Nassau Open Bowling Championship Tournament, organised by the Tenpin Bowling Association of Nassau, got started last night at Mario’s Bowling and Entertainment Centre. 

A 2nd shift of five games will be played Monday and a 3rd shift on Wednesday after which a cut will be made for a top 4 in each category roll-off the following evening.

At 5pm April 19, the top two players from each division will bowl a one game match to determine the category winners. In addition the male and female player with the highest game will be crowned the overall champion. There are four categories in the men and ladies’ division and over 50 bowlers will be vying for their divisional crown plus cash prizes.
