POLICE are looking for the suspects responsible for two armed robberies that occurred over the weekend.
In the first incident, shortly before 9pm on Saturday, two men entered a business located off Farrington Road and robbed the cashier of a large amount of cash. The men fled on foot.
In the second incident, shortly after midnight on Sunday, a man was sitting in his black 2008 Kia Sportage on West Bay Street when two men armed with handguns approached.
The gunmen drove the victim to Gladstone Road, where they forced him out of his vehicle and sped off, police said.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding these incidents or any other crime, no matter how small or insignificant the tip might seem, to anonymously call 919 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or 1-242-300-8476 in the Family Islands.
AMERICANS ARRESTED
Police and Department of Customs officials took two American men into custody for firearm and ammunition possession on Saturday.
According to reports, around 5.30pm, police, assisted by Department of Customs officials, arrested the two men at Chub Cay in the Berry Islands for possession of three handguns and a large amount of ammunition. The two men, along with the firearms, were expected to be flown into New Providence for further investigations by officers from the Firearm Tracing and Investigation Unit.
