TWO of the biggest names in gospel music have been added to the line-up of performances at FamFest 2015.

The annual family festival scheduled for October 23 at Arawak Cay will see Grammy award-winning artist Israel Houghton and Deitrick Haddon share the stage with local acts. The full line-up of performers will be announced at a later date.

Fam Entertainment is a family of unified and diverse vocal artists and professionals whose main goal is to be messengers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They strive to carry the message of unity, love, peace and hope through the art of music.

Every year, organisers seek to present the very best in gospel music locally and internationally.

The festival is built on the foundation of Bahamian gospel music, good food, and clean fun. It has grown tremendously over the years since its debut in 1995.

In previous years, the event has taken the form of nightly week-long sessions, culminating with a day of activity zones (kids, youth, culture, health & fitness), sporting events, water parks, food courts and a grand showcase of all the musical artists from FamFest Label.

Ever since its inception, the objective of the festival has been to uplift families, society, and by extension, the country.

“We are determined to continue to achieve our goal of the past 20 years of celebrating positivity, celebrating the family and celebrating life.

“By providing wholesome entertainment, inspiration and empowerment for the young and the young at heart, we look forward to joining with over 20,000 excited festival-goers who have supported and continue to support us moving forward,” the Fam Entertainment group said.

“We want you to experience three fun-filled nights of musical performances, new artist features, exciting games, savoury foods and much more. We believe you don’t want to miss this.”

Fam Entertainment has created short films such as ‘Break’, has featured other Fam concerts such as “Day 7”, a Rahming Brothers/Cooling Waters concert, The Region Bells, and has produced local programming such as the first Bahamian soap opera, “Gippie’s Kingdom”.

FamFest 2015 will stream live and updates will be posted on social media every 30 minutes.
