THE Royal Bahamas Defence Force apprehended 11 Cuban migrants on Anguilla Cay in the Cay Sal Bank area on Monday.
According to the RBDF, its operations centre was informed by Operations Bahamas, Turks and Caicos (OPBAT) of suspected migrants on Anguilla Cay around 1pm on Monday.
HMBS Rolly Gray, which was on routine patrol at the time, was then diverted to investigate the report.
Upon arrival at Anguilla Cay, eight Cuban men and three Cuban women were found ashore.
The Cubans were subsequently apprehended and are on their way to Nassau where they will be handed over to the Department of Immigration authorities, the RBDF said.
