POLICE arrested three teenage boys yesterday in connection with the stabbing death of a 12th grade male student of Doris Johnson Senior High School on Wednesday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Dean said the first juvenile, age 15, was arrested shortly after 10am by officers from the Selective Enforcement Unit.
The second teen, age 17, was arrested around 12.30pm also by Selective Enforcement Unit officers. Both teens are students at Doris Johnson Senior High School. ACP Dean said late last night a 16-year-old had also been detained.
The 16-year-old victim, identified as Adonai Wilson, was stabbed multiple times during an argument with several other school students shortly after school was dismissed early because of exams. He died a short time later in hospital.
The murder took place shortly after 2pm on Prince Charles Drive, less than a mile from the school’s campus.
This latest killing brought the country’s murder count to 139 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.
In the wake of the attack, Fort Charlotte MP and Free National Movement Shadow Minister of National Security Dr Andre Rollins said no “leniency” should be shown to minors who “perpetrate murderous acts as adults.”
In a post on his Facebook page, Dr Rollins also said the PLP “totally neglected the youth” during this term in office.
“If we are serious about addressing violent crime in our country, we must address the infiltration of gangs in our high schools by having our laws permit the treatment of all minors who perpetrate murderous acts as adults. There is no room for leniency in response to barbarism by any citizen and being a teenager is no excuse for ignorance of the consequences of one’s actions,” the post said.
“Secondly, this PLP administration has completely neglected the nation’s youth during this term in office. I had expected they would re-implement the YEAST programme in North Andros as a means of addressing our nation’s problem with wayward youth,” Dr Rollins added. “Our nation’s worsening crime problem is a manifestation of the neglect of our nation’s youth by both parents and the state. Where families fail, the state must intervene. The PLP’s promise to ‘double the investment in education’ and our nation’s youth apparently meant funneling millions of dollars in contracts to government supporters to build overpriced or over-sized buildings at BAMSI in North Andros.”
Dr Rollins said hopefully this administration “will quickly recognise that our country desperately needs investment in social programmes” like those spearheaded by persons like Dr David Allen, Jeffery Lloyd and Troy Edward Clarke.
Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

........................ Fast track this case as example to school children ...................................
These boys should be quickly tried and severely punished with the harshest sentences possible as a deterrent and example to other out of control children in the school system.
None of the usual nonsense fooling around with months and years to court, trial and sentencing. Set an example other children will relate to, and dam well do it quickly while we have their attention.
"Strike while the irons hot" now, or be prepared for more of the same.

Seems like an open and shut case. Once found guilty, lets have them tied to a tree on the school campus until they die. No food, no water. Let them scream themselves to death. This would be a good message to all young people.

Unreal that murderous crime has now infiltrated our schools. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse!

These are school children we are talking about. Don't blame them, blame our broken society. I move that the government of the day should receive the same punishment these boys have coming their way

Should not the PARENTS of these children be held accountable in some form? They are responsible for bringing these monsters into our midst.

I agree, what's happening in the homes need to be investigated and if reasonable parental neglect is determined, absolutely. This is not typical teenage angst...this malicious anger that somebody created and/or ignored.
