JUSTIN Roberts has advanced to the main draw of the Dominican Republic Futures with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Samuel Beddow of Great Britain after he won 81 per cent of the big points in the match.
Over the weekend, on his way to advancing to the main draw, Roberts defeated Lautaro Hardoy of Argentina 7-5, 6-0.
Jody Turnquest, another Bahamian, got a bye in the first round of qualifying, but he lost 6-0, 6-1 to No.4 seed Liam Caruaqna from the United States.
Both Turnquest and Roberts are also playing in doubles, but with different partners.
If they are successful in their first round matches, they could clash in the quarter-finals.
Turnquest is teaming up with Kyle Joseph from Antigua and Roberts is paired with Alexander Merino of Peru.
