THE Mahi season has begun early this year, just as the Wahoo season did.
In the Spring Mahi begin to migrate from the southern Bahamas, heading north into the Gulf Stream.
This usually happens once the winds move around to the east and south, very different from the winter when they are in the north.
This week, Mahi were caught in San Salvador, Exuma and Eleuthera - a fantastic sign for all fishermen.
Brett Pinder caught a nice Mahi in northern Exuma and Tweedie Sands took a big Mahi near Spanish Wells. That was also the area for Bruno Underwood to spear a nice Hogfish.
