FOR ARNETT

THE family and friends of the late Ozzie Arnett are scheduled to hold a special service to celebrate his life 5:30pm February 19 in the VIP stand of the original Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium. The funeral service for Arnett will take place at a later date to be announced.

BOWLING LEAGUE

THE top male player and MVP of the Financial Bowling League competition last night was Greg Taylor of Strike Force with a 567 high three game set. Dwayne Ingraham of Sunshine Insurance was the runner-up with a respectable 548 set. The high game was a 226 from Ryan Major of Deloitte & Touche followed by a 206 from Brad Fowler of the Leno Corporate Services.

The ladies MVP of the evening was again Joy Lockhart of BTC Night Hawks who mowed down the pins for a big 234 high game and a huge 624 high three game set. Lockhart was followed by Monique Miller of Strike with a 196 second high game and an outstanding 534 second high set.

Other scores of the evening were: Deloitte & Touche 3, Strike Force 0; Leno Corporate Services 3, Price Waterhouse Coopers 0; Fidelity Bulldogs 2, Moonlight Strikers 1; Forsythe Communications 2, Rubis Oil Stars 1; BTC Night Hawks 2, Sunshine Insurance 1.

TO KNOWLES

FAMILY

EXECUTIVES, players and fans of the Masters Softball Association have joined the lot extending condolences to Oria Wood-Knowles on the passing of her husband Colin “Troppy” Knowles, who is scheduled to be funeralized this Saturday morning at Mission faith Baptist Church, Baillou Hill Road.

Speaking on behalf of the association, president Rory Newbold remarked: “We extend heartfelt condolences to Mrs Wood-Knowles and family on the death of noted sportsman coach Colin “Troppy” Knowles.

Accepting that MSA personnel will “keep the Knowles family in their prayers,” Newbold stated that “Troppy has made an incalculable contribution to the development of players through coaching as well as sponsorship and this country owes him a deep sense of gratitude.

“Troppy” has ran his race- he has finished his course” and has gone on to await his just reward – may he rest in peace!”

RUGBY UNION

BAILLOU will be looking for their first win of the rugby season in the Heineken Cup when they play Cuckoos at the Winton Field 4pm Saturday. Last week they went down 35-8 to Buccaneers, their third successive loss.
