Kelda Rolle has come to the conclusion that many men out there are “emotionally starved and attention deprived” in their relationships.  

Over the past few weeks, Ms Rolle has been engaging in tours, discussing her book “Men Under A Microscope” with readers who have in turn shared their personal experiences with her which led her to draw the conclusion that many men are unfulfilled in their relationships.

Also referred to as the “Man Bible”, the book seeks to help readers understand men and use this knowledge to get more out of their relationships.

Before she wrote the book, Kelda said she pondered why men seem so complex in their reactions toward women. This initial interest led her to do a little research and she discovered that men “function in accordance with their primal drive, which revealed them like an open book.”

She said she also discovered systematic patterns of behaviour that were present in almost every man she has come into contact with.

Since its release last year, Ms Rolle said more men than women are reading her book. However, she is confident that women will also catch up and read it to get an insight into the way men think.

“Presently men are curious as to what a female could possibly have to say in relation to how they function. They are intrigued that the answers have been provided from the other side.

“It was not surprising that I got such a response from the men because the book was written in their defence and in doing so I knew I would have attracted them. What I did not expect was the women to be timid in reading about their wrongs. I would like for them to shake their fear in order to make themselves aware of what they need to know about their companions. It will help maintain and sustain their relationships,” she told Tribune Woman.

Based on the encounters she has had with men who have opened up about their relationships, Ms Rolle said many of them are hurting and are generally not satisfied.

“A lot of people I have met, men to be exact, are emotionally starved and attention deprived. I need women to help me, join hands with me in uplifting, loving and awarding our men. Be their primary source of encouragement. In contrast, the women are generally and genuinely struggling to understand their counterparts,” she said.

For too long, she said, some women have been out of touch and are uncertain about how men act and how they should respond. Ms Rolle said men are not from a different planet like some women believe. In fact, through her research she found that men are in many ways similar to women.

“The book is only an encouragement for those willing to bridge the gap between them and their significant other. I am just trying to do away with our traditional concepts, for example, men are dogs, ATM machines, magic wands, our roommates – no matter the relationship’s status,” she said.

“For men the book is somewhat of a blueprint, your guide to the general appreciation of yourself. Ladies, this is your gift. If you’re a serious woman looking to love your man deeper while carrying a greater understanding of him, then read the book.”

Ms Rolle said she is the process of finishing her second book. “It will a completely different topic – although men have been requesting ‘Women Under A Microscope’, which may very well be a strong possibility,” she said.
