I was somewhat amazed when reading your editorial on January 7, 2015, about the Prime Minister saying it might have been unwise of him blaming the FNM for the crime problem in our country. I thought you should have praised him highly for his integrity, and honesty in admitting his mistake. A mistake you could have never gotten from Mr Ingraham or the FNM to admit when they blamed “Mother” Pratt for the then crime problem.

I am sure that if you look in your newspaper archives between 2006-2007, you would find how they blasted that poor godly, praying woman for the high murder count, even though the murder count was about 90. What I find amazing is how hard it is for you to cut the cake in half. One half of the cake for the PLP and the other half of the cake for the FNM.

You seem to always cut the cake on one side. You know full well that the FNM won the election in 2007 because they blamed “Mother” Pratt and the PLP for the crime problem. All of a sudden you playing like you have amnesia, and can’t recall that the people were foolish to bite the bait then and voted for the FNM to see if they could do anything with crime. The crime situation has only gotten worse. How hard it is for you to say when the murder count was about 90 it was unwise for the FNM to blame the PLP and “Mother” Pratt, just as it is unwise for the PLP to blame Tommy Turnquest and the FNM for the crime problem when the murder count was 127, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. That’s what cutting the cake in half is all about.

The time has come for you to stop cutting the cake on one side so that people can take you seriously.

I have a friend who I would like to read this paper every morning, but he refuses to read it because he calls it one-sided garbage. I can’t let them get away with blaming “Mother” Pratt and you are playing like you forgot who started all the blaming – the FNM. Now see if you can get Mr Ingraham to admit his party was unwise to blame “Mother” Pratt. Dr Minnis or the Chairman or you just come out and say that “Mother” Pratt was better than Turnquest or Nottage.

There was no 100 murder count under her belt. Give this saintly woman some credit for being better than the men. In 2007, the FNM promised us the same thing that the PLP promised us in 2012. How hard is it to say that they both lie to the Bahamian people?

Cut the cake in half man and stop letting one party get away with murder and the other one carry the blame.
