POLICE are searching for gunmen who were inside a champagne-coloured Honda Accord reportedly used during a shooting on Monday night that has left a man hospitalised in serious condition.

According to police reports, around 10pm on Monday a man was standing in front of his home, located on Ferguson Way off Carmichael Road, when the occupants of a Honda Accord shot him in the back and wrist before speeding off.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he remains in serious condition.

Meanwhile, two juvenile males are now in police custody in connection with an armed robbery near a church two days ago, according to police.

The teens, ages 17 and 16, were arrested less than two hours after committing the act on the East West Highway, police said.

According to reports, shortly after 10.30pm on Monday, two men and two women were standing outside a church located on East West Highway, when three masked males armed with handguns robbed them of a cell phone, wallet and cash before fleeing on foot.

However, police said they apprehended two of the suspects shortly after midnight.

Two men are also in police custody after they were arrested for possession of dangerous drugs on Monday.

According to reports, shortly before 9am on Monday, the two men, ages 42 and 37, were riding a motorcycle on Thatch Palm Avenue, Pinewood Gardens, when a police motorcyclist stopped them for a traffic violation.

Police then searched the motorcycle and discovered seven ounces of marijuana. The two men were subsequently taken into custody and are expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged.

Police also reported the seizure of an illegal handgun.

According to reports, around 1pm on Monday, officers from the Southeastern Division acting on intelligence went to a park in Golden Gates, where they found a handgun. No one was arrested in connection with this discovery.

Police also arrested seven persons on Monday for various minor and major offences.

Investigations into all of these matters are continuing.
