WITH a mission to bring young girls closer to God, members of the recently established Kingdom Girls Ministry are seeking to make a name for themselves in the Bahamas.

To that end, the organisation will host the Kingdom Girls Summit 2015 on August 8, which is open to all young ladies age 15 and up.

Under the theme, “Hidden Truth Brought To Light”, the summit will take place at the Holy Trinity Centre beginning at 6pm.

“Many women and girls are bitter, stressed, troubled, broken, bruised, have lost hope and have low self-esteem,” Nakarha Evans, Kingdom Girls founder and event coordinator, told Tribune Woman.

“This ministry is to transform their souls by the blood of Jesus, to revive and restore their lives, to let them know that there is still hope, and that even though whatever circumstances they have endured, God still loves them; he is a forgiving God and he can transform their lives and make them whole once they allow him to.”

Speakers at the event will include Ms Evans, Batista Henfield, Bahamian author Keithra Morley, and Banista Moxey will serve as the hostess. Kingdom Girls will also host a book signing featuring Ms Morley’s “A Woman Saved By Grace”. Gospel musician Landlord will perform live.

Ms Evans said the organisation can be beneficial to all Bahamian women because it was formed with a mandate from God. After seeking guidance to initially start the Kingdom Girls Ministry last year, Ms Evans launched the organisation with a successful Girls Retreat last August, and it has positively developed since then.

“God gave me double for my trouble within the organisation – two anointed women of God, Banista and Batista Henfield, my cousins. Never in my wildest dreams did it ever occur to me that God would place myself and my two cousins to be a part of this ministry, but to God be the glory for the great things he has done,” she said.

“The Holy Spirit led us to share our journey, so now it is our mandate by God; it became our passion to speak against the sins that once had us bound.”

She said the Kingdom Girls Ministry builds self-esteem, teaches godly values and discipline. It is designed to attract teenage girls from all backgrounds between ages of 13 and 19 and to teach them word that God is indeed real and in control of their lives and future. The organisation also assists in areas of academics, healthcare (grooming/hygiene) and etiquette.

“At the upcoming event, the women and girls will get the truth on the lifestyle they should live according to God’s holy word. We also want to give them a sense of hope to never give up and that all is not lost and that their past does not determine their future. The overall goal of this event is to promote holiness,” Ms Evans said.

“Within less than a year, Kingdom Girls Ministry has already had its first retreat and now we are hosting our very first Kingdom Girls Summit, which will be held annually. We see the Kingdom Girls Ministry going international, seeing that God is the captain of the ship, so as he leads this ministry we will follow. We will continue to mentor the girls until God releases us for our next assignment.”

Tickets for the event are $25 at the door and $15 in advance. With the purchase of tickets, participants will receive a “Holy Chicks Rock 2” T-shirt.
