A STEWARD of Baha Mar appeared in Magistrate’s Court yesterday accused of being the man who drove a car into a waitress and a bar owner in western New Providence, fatally wounding the woman.

Clarence Rahming, 19, of Sunshine Park, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt facing a charge each of murder and attempted murder stemming from an incident on Gladstone Road that led to the death of Dajonne Woodside.

Bar owner Gerard Nairn is in hospital as a result of the incident.

On June 20, shortly after 1am, several persons, including Woodside, were involved in an argument at Da Brick House, according to earlier reports.

A short time later, a motorist rammed his car into Ms Woodside and Mr Nairn. The victims were rushed to hospital, but Ms Woodside died of her injuries, while Mr Nairn remains in serious condition.

Rahming was informed that he would not be required to enter a plea to the charges due to their nature and that his case would be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court on September 2 at his next court appearance.

Rahming was remanded to the Department of Correctional Services until that time.

However, he was advised of his right to seek bail in the Supreme Court.

Attorney Calvin Seymour appeared for Rahming.
