Women find their purpose as Kingdom Daughters

THE local non-profit organisation Kingdom Daughters International Network is inviting women from all walks of life to come to together for a time of fellowship and networking.

And this is not “just not another church group” making the call, Kingdom Daughters members said, as women and girls can get spiritual advice for every aspect of their lives.

With affiliations across the United States and the Caribbean, the Kingdom Daughters International Network was formed in 2013 by Bahamian Fanchon Gidget Braynen, who partnered with a number of local organisations in the Bahamas.

“We have affiliates that are at the highest level in our local community, to women who are housewives, self-employed and even unemployed, but we have one thing in common, we love God and want to see his Kingdom come on earth. Many of today’s women are not balanced and just don’t have any sources to turn to for support or guidance or help. We should be networking as women to assist women from a cross section of our communities to walk out of abusive relationships, regain their confidence, be empowered and strengthened to walk in their Kingdom assignment,” Fanchon told Tribune Woman.

Just last week, the organisation held its second annual conference, which Fanchon described as “simply phenomenal”.

With this being only their second year, she was happy to see that they have already outgrown the current venue. Attendee numbers increased to allow for standing room only on certain nights.

Fanchon believes the goal of coming together to encourage each other in fellowship as sisters was met and the conference was a success. Going forward, the goal is to also get as many professional Christian women on board as possible so that they can take the Kingdom even further.

“I currently mentor many women in the workplace, church, schools, and many times they ask me, ‘How do you do it, wearing so many hats – pastor, HR professional, wife, mother, volunteer, friend, mentor?’ I have had so many people push me into my assignment by just acknowledging me as a ‘Kingdom woman’. I take joy in wearing all of my hats. I love more than all being a wife. The Lord said to me we need to move from being church women to Kingdom women. Out of this came Kingdom Daughters,” she said.

Fanchon said women left this year’s conference in a different place mentally and spiritually.

Highlights of the event included presentations

from several women based networks such as Felicia DaFire Starter Archer’s Fresh Fire Ministries, Sherika Brown’s Iron Network, Tanya Duncombe’s Hadassah Girls Club, Patricia Pratt’s Prayer and Inspiration Network, Sharell Carroll’s Sage Eden, Natasha Pyfrom’s Ruach Women’s Ministries, Minister Lavette McFall’s Kingdom Consultants, Pastor Clarice Thompson’s Global Outreach Ministries James Cistern Eleuthera, Anointed Christian Ladies Singing Group and many others that came to support the conference.

“All of these women are professional Christian women with a Kingdom mandate.

“Yes, you can look good, be very educated, saved and walk in a power anointing.

“They represent the power and authority of a Kingdom daughter. Women in attendance were overwhelmed by the love and camaraderie demonstrated under the power of the Holy Ghost.

“They were encouraged not to give up on their dreams or their assignment, no matter how bad it

looks.

“They left feeling that they can walk in their purpose despite challenges and knowing that there are women out there that are prepared to walk through it with them,” she said.

Like herself, Fanchon said many women in society often take on the task of trying to balance their personal and professional lives, while also being dedicated to a ministry. Whether they are single or married or divorced, young or old, Fanchon said God has given women a mandate on how to balance these challenges.

For later in the year, Kingdom Daughters plans to play host to several events, including the ‘Network Meet and Greet’, the ‘Celebration of Life – An Evening of Jazz’, ‘Cover Me Drive’ (for clothing and shoes for the less fortunate), a prayer breakfast, empowerment seminar, ‘Stepping Out’ seminar for women who want to start their own businesses, and preparations for next year’s conference under the theme “Adorned for Purpose”

For all those interested, the Kingdom Daughters International Network has a local office located at New Life Restoration Ministries, East Street, in the Independence Shopping Plaza, and can be reached at 677-2927 or e-mail
