POLICE are investigating a kiteboarding accident in Eleuthera that has left a 33-year-old American man dead.
The man, who hailed from North Carolina, was kite boarding off Schooner Cay, South Eleuthera around 10 am Thursday according to reports when he lost control and crashed into the water.
He was transported to the island's local clinic where he was pronounced dead.
The incident was one of two apparent accidents that resulted in deaths int he country on Thursday.
In the other incident, a 67-year-old man died in hospital following a traffic accident.
According to reports, shortly after 12.30pm a woman was driving a white 2002 Honda Accord on Tonique Williams when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The woman was injured along with the male passenger. The woman was treated for injuries she received and was then discharged.
