POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a one-year-old baby boy on Friday night.
Officer in Charge of the Central Detective Unit, Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle, said the baby was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital in an unresponsive state around 9pm on Friday.He was pronounced dead a short while later.
The baby’s mother and stepfather are in police custody, assisting them with their investigations.
Supt Rolle said an autopsy has to be performed to determine the exact cause of death, however sources say the baby has several visible bruises on his face and body.
