POLICE have two men in custody in connection with the stabbing death of a 21- year-old man Sunday night on Arawak Cay.
The death brought the country’s murder count to 33 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.
According to police reports, shortly before midnight, a man was involved in a fight at Arawak Cay with two other men, that resulted in him being stabbed multiple times in his upper body.
The victim died at the scene. The suspects attempted to flee the area on foot, but were caught by police.
Police have not identified the victim, but The Tribune understands he is Ronald Fluerinvil.
His death came two days after Jarad Butterfield, 27, was shot while standing near a bus stop on Soldier Road.
Butterfield was standing in front of a shopping centre last Friday, around 6am, when another man walked up to him and shot him multiple times.
That killing came 36 hours after another 27-year-old man, Alfred Renaldo Munnings Ferguson, was shot to death outside a friend’s home on West Avenue. Police have arrested four people, including a defence force officer, in connection with that incident. Another man, who was injured during the shooting, was taken to hospital.
Anyone with information on these homicides is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.
