A 22-year-old woman is fighting for her life in hospital after her car slammed into a Commonwealth Bank sign on Blue Hill Road early Sunday morning.
Officer in Charge of the Traffic Division, Superintendent Craig Stubbs, said the woman was driving a 2010 Ford Focus south along Blue Hill Road around 4.30am when she lost control of her vehicle and collided with a concrete sign that displayed the bank’s logo.
She was pinned in the vehicle and firefighters had to use the “jaws of life” to extract her. She was taken to hospital by ambulance, where she is listed in critical condition.
Supt Stubbs said officers believe speed was a factor in the accident. Investigations continue.
