POLICE have launched an island-wide manhunt for the occupants of a white Honda who ambushed and shot an officer on Friday morning.
According to reports, the officer had just arrived home from duty shortly after 8am, when the occupants of a white Honda Accord shot him multiple times before speeding off in an unknown direction.
He was rushed to hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.
Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.
Two men are fighting for their lives in hospital after they were shot in two separate incidents on Thursday night.
Shortly before 8pm, police say a man was on Elizabeth Estates Park when he was shot. The victim was rushed to hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
Three hours later the second victim was at Balls Alley, when two men shot him before fleeing on foot. He was rushed to hospital, where he also remains in serious condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
