Hurricane Joaquin hit our islands five weeks ago with horrific and devastating effects, our God decided that there would be no deaths, but ... the Bahamas Christian Council has not as yet organised a National Celebration of Thanksgiving. They must be waiting for the anniversary in 2016.
Just wondering - are we collectively too self-possessed to say Lord thank you? I can totally understand why our young people do not look up to the Church.
It is self-evident by the lack of Christian outreach, that probably the drive of our churches is in “mis-drive”.
Ashamed - totally ashamed. After this letter BCC, please do not suddenly organise something. You are too late.

Oh please. Give God thanks and join the rebuilding efforts if you have not already done so or contributed to it. The BCC does not represent most denominations in this country anyway, so nothing they organize would in fact be national in any event.

It doesn't matter what the BCC does. They keep sexual education from our youth in the schools and breed (pun intended) ignorance and the resulting crime that follows.
However, it doesn't matter. Bahamians REFUSE to stop putting money in their Sunday tithes plates. I've never understood anyone paying for a service that ruins their lives - but hey, maybe I'm just stupid. Maybe the world really is a big bed of roses.
