MEMORIES Grand Bahama Beach Resort took top spots in the third annual Culinary Fusion Food and Beverage Expo last weekend in Grand Bahama.
This year’s event was held at the Pelican Bay Resort, where local restaurants and chefs displayed their culinary inventions and skills. The purpose of the event is to highlight best in foods and beverages.
Gabriel Varela, general manager of Memories, said the win marks the second consecutive year that Memories Grand Bahama Beach & Casino Resort took the award for best overall and best presentation.
“The Culinary Fusion Expo is an excellent event that highlights the best that Grand Bahama’s food and beverage industry has to offer,” he said. “At Memories, we strive to provide a unique taste experience to our visitors. This win shows we are meeting our mark.”
Devin Johnson, director of food and beverage, said they used native and indigenous products to create unique recipes to meet modern times.
“It was a learning experience for all team members who were grateful for the opportunity and felt honoured to be selected,” he said.
“The event definitely has grown, and was a huge success,” said Damion Myers, executive chef. “And as with last year, our establishment was presented in a grand way and we were well received. We have once again, created some popularity among the local clients.”
“We are indeed proud of our entire culinary team and their hard work and dedication; their creativity and talent has surpassed even last year’s vision,” said Denise Adderley, Bahamas director of sales & marketing for Blue Diamond Hotels and Resorts, who are responsible for all sales and promotions at Memories Grand Bahama Beach and Casino Resort.
