SIR Durward Knowles has been admitted to Doctors Hospital and is not permitted to receive visitors as he undergoes medical tests.
The first Bahamian to win an Olympic gold medal and renowned benefactor, Sir Durward was taken to hospital on Monday after being unwell when he woke up.
Sir Durward will celebrate his 98th birthday on November 2. Dubbed the ‘Sea Wolf’, he and Cecil Cooke won the Star Class sailing at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo. He was knighted in 1996.
