GRAND Bahama residents now have a convenient way to donate to Hurricane Joaquin relieve efforts thanks to a partnership with AML Foods Ltd and the Grand Bahama Red Cross.
Solomon’s Freeport on Queen’s Highway, Solomon’s Lucaya in the Seahorse Plaza and Cost Right Freeport serve as collection sites for the non-profit organisation as they seek to provide assistance to islands in the southern Bahamas after hurricane Joaquin.
“As a corporate citizen, we are committed to assisting in whatever way we can to bring aid to those impacted by Hurricane Joaquin,” said Renea Bastian, vice-president of marketing and communications at AML Foods Ltd, parent company of Solomon’s.
“Shortly after the storm, we reached out to the Grand Bahama Red Cross and agreed to place collection bins at our Solomon’s branded outlets and at our Cost Right location on the island. In addition to supplies like food, clothing and basic necessities, we’re encouraging all citizens to donate their time and resources to assist our fellow Bahamians.”
Earlier this week, the company delivered $25,000 in food and clothing items to the Nassau branch of the Bahamas Red Cross.
