A MAN has been taken into custody for the shooting death of a man last Thursday, police said yesterday.
Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle told The Tribune that the suspect was arrested on Sunday night.
He was arrested in connection with a shooting incident that happened in the area of Old Boat Alley off Market Street on October 8, police said.
The victim, identified as Leroy Rashad Smith, was standing in the street around 9pm when two gunmen approached and opened fire, hitting him multiple times. He died at the scene.
The victim, 29, was on bail for a serious offence and was wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Dean.
