At the Solomon’s Super Center’s third annual Customer Health Fair, shoppers took part in health screenings – from free blood pressure checks to cholesterol and glucose testing – flu shots and free skin analysis. During the event, vendors handed out samples of healthy foods and vitamin options available in the store. The food retailer also teamed up with Friends of the Blood Bank to collect donations for the Princess Margaret Hospital Blood Bank.
“October is our store’s anniversary month and we took the opportunity to give back to our customers by hosting the health fair,” said Monalisa Sweeting, event organiser and brand manager at Solomon’s.
“Shoppers show up, get their vital health checks and have a chance to see the products we have in store to make living better more feasible. This is our third year hosting the event and customers now look forward to coming. Based on the feedback we’ve received, many shoppers say while they know health is important, they find it hard to fit regular checkups into their busy schedules. Our health fair gives them a convenient way to know those important health statistics.”
Solomon’s staff members also took part in the event and benefitted from the screenings and healthy living tips.
“The health fair is a way for both our customers and our employees to increase their health awareness and improve the quality of their lives,” said Renea Bastian, vice president of marketing and communications at AML Foods, parent company of Solomon’s.
“As we get set to celebrate Solomon’s 25th year of operation at the end of this month we remain committed to promoting better living for our customers and our employees who are at the heart of this operation.”
Anniversary celebrations are in the works. Customers can look forward to special events, samples and savings at the store.
