THE BODY of a woman who fell off a Bahamas-based cruise ship has been pulled from waters off the Massachusetts coast, Rockport Harbourmaster officials have announced.
The US Coast Guard says it received a distress call around 7pm on Friday that a woman had fallen overboard from the Seabourn Quest while the ship was about 10 miles off Cape Ann.
The Coast Guard responded by air and by sea, along with Rockport Harbourmaster officials, who pulled the woman’s body from the water around 8.30pm. Harbourmaster officials confirmed she was dead but no details about the woman or how she went overboard have been released.
The Coast Guard says the 650ft Odyssey class cruise ship had left Boston on Friday afternoon and was bound for Bar Harbour, Maine.
