POLICE are on the hunt for several suspects after a man was shot in the leg outside his Emerald Gardens home off Cowpen Road by the occupants of a burgundy Honda vehicle shortly after 11pm on Thursday.
The man is reported to be in stable condition at hospital.
Police are also searching for a man who robbed a women of her Silver Honda at gunpoint around 7pm on Thursday.
The woman was about to get into her car in a Golden Gates shopping centre parking lot when a man armed with a handgun approached her. The car's licence plate number is 289109, according to police.
According to Assistant Commissioner Stephen Dean, police also recovered three firearms and a large amount of ammunition in four separate incidents.
On Thursday, the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) found an AR-15 Assault Rifle and 26 live rounds of ammunition in a bushy area off Lazaretta Road.
Less than two hours later, officers from the Firearm Tracing and Investigation Unit (FTIU) recovered a .40 pistol that was dropped by two men. The men fled from officers who were on patrol at St Margaret Road off Shirley Street.
FTIU officers recovered another handgun and six live rounds of ammunition in an area at Spikenard Road off Cowpen Road shorly after midnight on Friday.
According to ACP Dean, police also found a large amount of ammunition in an abandoned building at Kemp Road shortly after 7am on Friday.
Officers from the Southeastern Division and the Flying Squad arrested 15 people in two separate operations in New Providence on Thursday.
"In the operation conducted by officers from the Southeastern Division," the police statement read, "eight persons were arrested for various offences such as housebreaking, stolen vehicle, stealing and unlawful possession.
"In the operation conducted by officers from the Flying Squad, 7 persons were arrested for various offences such as murder, armed robbery, stolen vehicle and possession of dangerous drugs."
