A MAN was remanded to prison yesterday after being arraigned for the murder of a man who was killed last month.
Drew Storr, 19, of Fort Fincastle, stood before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt accused of intentionally causing the death of Allington Butler on August 13.
Shortly before 8am on the day in question, Butler was standing under a tree on Burial Ground Corner next to a white truck, when two people approached him.
According to initial reports, one of the men produced a handgun and discharged several shots in the victim’s direction. The victim ran towards his residence and collapsed in the yard.
Due to the nature of the offence, Storr was not required to enter a plea to the charge. He returns to Magistrate’s Court on November 9 for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment, which will fast-track the matter to the Supreme Court.
He was remanded to the Department of Correctional Services until then but advised of his right to apply for bail in the Supreme Court. Storr was not represented by a lawyer yesterday.
