For the second consecutive year, Jimmy Norius competed in the Miami Muscle Beach Pro/Amateur show in Miami, Florida, where he turned in a spectacular performance.

Last year, Norius won the men’s middleweight open and the masters over 35 middleweight bodybuilding and overall masters. This year, Norius added the masters over 40 physique title to the triple crowns he captured last year. “My performance was good. The judging was extremely good,” Norius stated. “I felt if I was tighter at the pre-judging, I would have been able to perform much better. I was still able to hold off the guys for the top honours. But I felt within myself, I could have been better with my performances.”

As a result of his performance, Norius was invited to participate in the Florida Grand Prix, but he is thinking about staying at home and getting ready for a couple of local shows before he heads off to the Central American and Caribbean Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships where he will be out to defend his title as well.

The reigning Mr Bahamas will be heading to Grand Bahama to compete in the Northern Bahamas Championships in July and the Bahamas National Championships in August before he heads to the CAC Championships in the Dominican Republic in September.

Last year, Norius became the first athlete ever to win two gold in two different categories when he accomplished the feat in the masters and the welterweight when the championships were held here at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island.

“I’m looking forward to it because I’m on top,” Norius said. “I know that the guys will be coming to come get. We had the home court advantage last year, but we’re going to the Dominican Republic, so it won’t be the same. I will have to come a little tighter and drier than I did at the CAC last year to duplicate what I did here. I know they will be gunning for me.”

In the meantime, Norius said he will bask in his success in Miami for the second consecutive year.
