Man on bail one of two killed in shootings

TWO MEN, including a man on bail being electronically monitored, were shot multiple times and killed in two separate incidents over the weekend.

The homicides took the country’s murder count to 106 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.

The first shooting took place shortly after 10pm on Sunday off Tonique Williams Darling Highway. According to police, the victim was standing by the door of Pressure Point bar when a man entered the building and opened fire.

The victim was shot twice before the suspect stood over him, shooting him twice more before fleeing the area on foot.

Police have not identified the victim but The Tribune understands he is 22-year-old Maurice Johnson of Baillou Hill Estates.

The second murder took place shortly after 2am on Monday.

Police said they received a call that a man appeared to be lifeless in a vehicle off Baillou Hill Road. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the victim in the driveway of his home, slumped over his while 2000 Honda Accord. The victim was shot three times.

Police have not identified the man but sources say he is 23-year-old Berchinal Martin also of Baillou Hill Road.

Martin was out on bail and was being electronically monitored.
