VOLLEYBALL
NPVA FINALS
THE New Providence Volleyball Association’s best-of-five championship series continued Wednesday night at the DW Davis Gymnasium with the Scottsdale Vixens and National Fence Intruders moving into the driver’s seat. They both can wrap up the ladies’ and men’s titles when the series continues tonight.
In the ladies’ matchup, the defending champions and 2015 pennant winning Vixens lead this series by winning game two in four sets over Johnson Lady Truckers. The Truckers held on to win the third set and avoided being swept in three straight sets. The final set scores were 25-18, 25-15, 16-25 and 26-24 in favour of Scottsdale.
In the men’s matchup between the 2014 champions and runner-up in the 2015 season, the Scotiabank Defenders won the first set but didn’t have enough steam to hold off the Intruders. The match was an exciting one, with National Fence winning in four sets 19-25, 25-19, 25-23 and 25-22.
Championship action is slated to continue tonight with game three at 7:30pm. If necessary, they will play game four on Sunday.

Players will compete in the following events - Mini-Tennis Skills, Mini-Tennis (red balls), Short Court (orange ball) and green dot balls, with advance players using yellow balls.
