RACE OF LOVE

THE Bahamas Hot Rod Association will hold a Race of Love on Valentine’s Day on Sunday at 2pm at the Bahamas Motor Sport Park. The event is under the theme: “Burndown at Sundown.”

The gates open at 2pm. General admission is $10 and bikers will be charged $5.

FINANCIAL BOWLING LEAGUE

THE top scorer from the Financial Bowling League competition last night was Lavardo Butlerof Best Deal Kirki Bar with an 215 second high game and a 583 high three game set.The runner-up MVP was Joey Demeritte of Forsythe Communications with a 576 second high set. Ural Pratt of Moonlight Strikers downed the pins for the high game of 226. 

The ladies MVP of the evening was Joy Lockhart of BTC Night Hawks who toppled the pins for a 202 high game and a 556high three game set. Lockhartwas followed by Xynea Johnsonof Sunshine Insurance also with a 202 high game and a 541 second high set.

In team scores, Deloitte & Touche blanked Leno Corporate Services 3-0; Moonlight Strikers blanked Rubis Oil Stars 3-0; Strike Force blanked Financial Leaguers 3-0; Berst Deal Kirki Bar nipped BTC Night Hawks 2-1 and Forsythe Communications nipped Sunshine Insurance 2-1.

BRU ACTION

THE Bahamas Rugby Union will continue their Heineken Cup regular season action on Saturday at the Winton Rugby Pitch in Winton Meadows and at the Freeport Rugby Club in Grand Bahama.

At 2:30pm in Grand Bahama, Freeport will play Buccaneers and in Nassau at 3pm, Baillou will take on the Cuckoos.

MASTERS SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION

Designed that way or not, competition in the Masters Softball Association’s 2016 regular season hasd proven to be quite interesting nearing first-half conclusion.

With just two more weekends of match-ups before the All-Star Classic, a pair of the seven campaigning squads are undefeated and another duo are winloess so far.

In games played over the weekend, the Joshua Knights knocked of the A-1 McDonald’s 21-16; Sunryz surprised the Corner Boyz 12-2 and Joshua pulled of a 22-2 rout over Sunrze.

This weekend’s fixture has Copa Di Vino Winemakers will play Sunryze at noon and Da Warriors will take on Dozer two hours later on Saturday. Then on Valentine’s Day on Sunday, Copa Di Vino faces the Corner Boyz at 1:15pm and the Shredders will face the two consecutive kingpins Dozer Heavy Equipment in the finale.
