Tears on the street yesterday after the death of a man who was shot while driving and whose car then crashed into a wall.

A MAN crashed into a wall and died moments after he was shot in the head while driving through the Coconut Grove area yesterday evening.
This killing took the country’s homicide count to 17 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.
The incident happened shortly after 5pm on the corner of Fifth Street.
Officer-in-charge of the Central Detective Unit, Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle said police initially were called to the scene of a traffic accident but when they arrived officers discovered the victim had been shot.
“Officers received a call of an accident and officers responded to the scene and upon arrival noticed the driver, who had crashed into a wall, was suffering from a gunshot injury to the head,” Chief Supt Rolle said.
“Our preliminary information is that the individual was seen driving a champagne Toyota Camry, west on Coconut (Grove) Avenue at a high rate of speed, when he turned south and collided into the wall. We are not certain as to where or how he came by his injuries but we appeal to anyone who may have information to come forward.”
Police have not identified the victim, but The Tribune understands he is 42-year-old Dave Miller.

This homicide came two days after a 35-year-old man was stabbed multiple times during an argument with another man Saturday night.
The killing took place shortly after 8pm in Nassau Village.
Police said they received reports that a man was stabbed while in the area of Sumner Street. When officers arrived, they found the lifeless body of a man with multiple stab wounds in his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Dean said police believe the victim was involved in an argument on a nearby street with another man that resulted in his stabbing.
Police have not officially identified Saturday’s victim, but The Tribune understands he is Cyril Tomeko Cartwright aka “Short Man”.
Investigations into both murders continue.

Two things come to my mind: one, the children at the scene are having to witness a foretaste of what is forecasted to be their future; two, it is understood that Mr. Edision Key, the Member of Parliament for Abaco, WHO IS 77 YEARS OLD, has decided to rescind his decision to retire. Right now I want to express myself like Ikalik. This is clearly a war between the generations, rather than political ideologies. The previous two or three generations of leaders are refusing to allow the generation gap to be filled. You'll could allow the 'cat' to get ya tongue, but this is ridiculous. They could not speak to the hearts and minds of their generation, but yet, they feel that they deserve and can speak and lead the hearts and minds of the people today. Spearing the profanity, I am disgusted to say the least.
My last point should put to rest the notion that this is a result of the 'black crab' syndrome.

Anyone who is over 60 should not be a candidate in the next election, plain and simple.
Parties should try to have a majority of candidates under the age of 45.

Readers... I am sincerely embarrassed on behalf of Mr. Edison Key who I held in high esteem until now. His decision is a potent display of greed...
But that be said, let us all be yet encourage to go out there and, in our best efforts, encourage those who are not registered to vote to do so ASAP.

One of the most troubling and spine-chilling statements was uttered by a young man not too far from this scene after an exchange of words with another young male. "(Do) you know we killing for fun nah ay?" . He was no more than 18 years old.
