A MAN was remanded to prison yesterday after being charged in connection with the murder of a man who had been reported missing.

Patrick Evans, 21, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt accused of intentionally causing the death of Shavano Missick, who was found dead in his home on January 19. Evans was not allowed to enter a plea to the allegation.

On the night in question, police found the body of the 21-year-old in his home on Sugar Apple Street, Pinewood Gardens on the floor of the bathroom wrapped in plastic bags and duct tape.

The victim was reported missing by relatives earlier in the day before his body was found in the early stages of decomposition.

Evans was informed that the case would be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court. A voluntary bill of indictment will be presented to him at his next court appearance set for April 13.

He was remanded to the Department of Correctional Services without bail.

However, he has a right to apply for bail to the Supreme Court.

He has retained Elsworth Johnson to represent him.
