BASKETBALL

NPWBA ACTION

THE New Providence Women’s Basketball Association is scheduled to return to the hardcourt Saturday at the DW Davis Gymnasium as they resume their 2015/15 season after taking a break for the Christmas holiday. A double header is set to begin at 7pm.

BAAA ODD

DISTANCE

THE Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations is set to start its 2016 season Saturday at the Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium with the hosting of the Odd Distance Track and Field Meet.

The one-day meet is all set to start at noon and will feature competition in odd events like the 75, 150, 400, 600 and 1,200 metres on the track.

On the field, the athletes will only have three attempts in the field events from a standing position. The long and high jumpers will also use a shorter approach.

SWIMMING

BSC SEASON

OPENER

THE first meet for the Bahamas Swimming Federation’s 2016 season will be the Swift/Gunite Pools Invitational January 15-16 at the Betty Kelly Kenning Swim Complex.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 6pm Friday and wrap up following Saturday’s 9am session. All of the local swim clubs are expected to participate.

THE New Providence Basketball Association is expected to resume its 2015/16 season Friday night at the AF Adderley Gymnasium.

In the 7:30pm opener, the Rhythm Rebels face the Everybody Wins Legends.

In the feature contest at 9pm, the Mail Boat Cybots face the PJ’s Stingers.
