A MAN awaiting trial for armed robbery appeared in the Supreme Court yesterday for a case management hearing.

Samuel Dorsette, 21, and his lawyer Krysta Mason-Smith appeared before Justice Carolita Bethell for an update in his case scheduled to be heard in September concerning two armed robberies that occurred in December 2012.

Ms Mason-Smith has requested that the Crown hand over Dorsett’s detention record concerning his time in police custody prior to his arraignment.

However, lawyers for the Crown have been unable to locate the document, but were instructed by the judge to continue looking.

Dorsette is accused of the December 12, 2012 gunpoint robbery and car jacking of Paul Thompson who was accosted for his $10,000 Honda CR-V, a $700 gold chain and $100 cash.

The accused is also alleged to have robbed Jason Deleveaux the following day of a Blackberry cellular phone valued at $300.

Dorsette has denied the allegations.

Anthony Delaney appeared for the Crown yesterday.
