Contemporary gospel singer Veola Sophia is maximising her ministry and encouraging people to keep pressing on even when life’s challenges make throwing in the towel appear very tempting.
The singer recently debuted her latest single, “Keep Moving”, produced by Reubin Heights and DJ Elevator at Perfect Blend Studios.
The song is described as “a beautiful excursion” that has the ability to inspire listeners with “masterful lead vocals and relatable lyricism.”
The song has been released on all major digital music platforms, and local fans can also pick up a physical copy at the Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Nassau.
Veola told Tribune Religion that the inspiration for her song came from several sources.
“One day, while sitting at the beach reflecting on my life and the things that I wanted to accomplish. I started to feel discouraged because I felt that I was not meeting the milestones that I had hoped to achieve in my music ministry.
“At this point I felt the presence of God in my life. The Holy Spirit spoke these words to me: ‘Keep moving’. Those two simple words truly inspired me and I began writing this song,” she said.
The song was also inspired by two biblical, including Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), which states: “ ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’”, and Philippians 3:14, which says: “I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.”
“I love the way in which the song energises me through its positive lyrics, encouraging me to always continue to press on to achieve the goals God has set for me in this life. I am continually motivated to continue to pursue my music ministry as a gospel recording artist.
“I reflect on the fact that God knew the plans that he had for my life even before I was born. I am in awe when I think about how God wants to use me, bless me, prosper me, and He has plans to give me a hope and a future. He has those plans for everyone and I want to share this message with my listeners as they share in the love of this song,” she said.
Veola began singing gospel music in church at a very young age and her mission has always been to share her ministry with others.
She hopes listeners are inspired to keep believing and keep their purpose at the forefront. “I want my listeners to keep motivated, keep believing, keep pressing, keep succeeding and keep moving on to accomplish their purpose in this life. It is my prayer that my listeners press toward the prize of eternal life with Jesus Christ. Jesus is coming again and I want to be ready, and it is my goal to help my listeners to be ready. “I want my listeners to fall in love with ‘Keep Moving’, allowing it to become a part of their devotion, inspiration and motivation each day,” she told Tribune Religion.
