THE Baptist Sports Council has crowned its three champions as the 2016 basketball league came to a close at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex on Saturday.

Golden Gates denied Macedonia’s bid to win all three titles as they clinched the men’s top spot with a 2-1 edge in their best-of-3 championship series.

Macedonia, however, won both the 15-and-under and 19-and-under titles as they held off Eagles Nest.

• Here’s a summary of the games played:

Golden Eagles 44, Macedonia 35: Christoff Stuart, the most valuable player, scored a game high 15 points to lead Golden Gates to a clincher in the men’s championship series. Randy Williams added 14.

Davon Adderley scored 10 and Patrick Brice added five in the loss.

Golden Gates 56, Macedonia 19: Chris Jennings scored 10, Dwayne Murray had eight and Randy Williams had seven as they pulled even at 1-1 in their men’s series.

Davon Adderley had six, Shaquille Reid five and De’Vontee Gibson four in a losing effort.

Macedonia 42, Golden Gates 33: Davon Adderley exploded for a game high 15 points and Patrick Brice added six in the men’s opener of the series.

Randy Williams scored 11 and Chris Stuart chipped in with seven in the loss.

Macedonia 53, Eagles Nest 47: Troy Marshall, the MVP, scored 14 points as they clinched the 19-and-under title. DeVontee Gibson chipped in with 12 and Davon Adderley added six.

Recarno Nixon scored 20 and Janaldo Joseph added 13 in the loss.

Macedonia 43, Eagles Nest 39: Travis Stewart had 13 points and Troy Marshall canned 10 as they won their 19-and-under opener.

Janaldo Joseph had 10 and both Recarno Nixon and Lorenzo Archer added seven in the loss.

Macedonia 52, Eagles Nest 36: Trevor Brown scored 10, Rus-Shorn Strachan had 11, Emanuel Alexander had nine and Saheed Sanusi added seven as they clinched the 15-and-under title.

Devito McIntosh had eight and both Terrel Bridgewater and Janard Fisher added six in the loss.

Eagles Nest 26, Macedonia 24: Terrel Bridgewater came up with 13 points to lead their 15-and-under team as they avoided getting swept in the series.

Tevon Dill and Rus-Shorn Strachan both had six in the loss.
