BEING able to share the message of Christ in his own unique way is something gospel singer Anfernee Edgecombe is excited to do.
Anfernee, the winner of 242 Untapped season 3, is about to debut his newest single which he hopes will encourage believers in their Christian walk.
The song, “Yes You Are”, will be released tomorrow on local radio stations.
Singing has always been a passion of his, and now that Anfernee is able to share his gift with much larger audience, he intends to leave an impression on all those who hear his music.
“I have been in the musical arena for as long as can remember. I’ve started singing in the church that I attend now. It was there that I began personally improving on my skills. As time goes by, I continuously picked up a few things about music in general. Through the years I have been in several groups such as my high school choir, United Youth Foundation Bahamas, College of the Bahamas and now Nu Voice,” he said.
Speaking about his new single, Anfernee told Tribune Religion that he wanted to record a song that would meet people exactly where they are in their Christian journey.
“It wasn’t as if we had the song before coming to the studio, but there was an idea of how the song may result in being. We were basically winging it from that point. It was mostly Sammi Starr that wrote this song; I was helping here and there. We wanted something that would best suit my style of singing and lyrics that can relate with many on their Christian walk,” he said.
“What I want my listeners to realise is that in everything, and I mean everything, we ought to give God what is due to him. He is the reason we are even capable of doing whatever it is we are capable of doing. We should be desperate to be able to come into his presence while on our journey. In all honesty, we don’t even deserve it, but he continues to show love and have mercy on us. What I do next is up to God or the record label, whichever comes first.”
Anfernee is currently affiliated with the East Street Gospel Chapel, a Brethren church.
