The quality of our air is being impacted by odours, bacteria, chemicals and pollutants every day. Within the confines of our buildings, we are surrounding ourselves with an ever-increasing amount of toxins. Surfaces in our homes, restaurant eating areas, restrooms, warehouses, airplanes - practically every surface you can think of - are littered with bacteria and viruses. How can we deal with this problem? Today, I get to talk about an exciting solution: Cleaner, purer air.
Fortunately, in the Bahamas we do not have the smog that forces people to breathe through masks every time they step outside. We do not have scores of smokestacks sending soot up into the sky. But even if the air outside could be worse, it is often a different story inside.
Are there sick people in your office? Does your house have mold and odours? Would you like a healthier, more pleasant atmosphere for guests at your restaurant, church or hotel? Then we must defeat the odours, bacteria, chemical, and pollutants in our air.
To fight these invaders, people often turn to chemicals. But there is a greener, better way to a healthy life. There is a natural, gentle, effective decontaminating agent that has been under our nose since the earth was created. It is called a hydroxyl (high-DROCK-sill), and occurs naturally in the earth’s atmosphere.
What is an hydroxyl? The energy of sunlight breaks apart water vapour in the air, releasing hydrogen and oxygen. These reconnect to form a safe yet unstable molecule called a hydroxyl. This molecule is called ‘nature’s foot soldier’ and fights to neutralise pollutants in the planet’s air. When it encounters a poison such as carbon monoxide, the hydroxyl tears the toxin apart. The best part is, as the hydroxyl cleans the air in your living space, it creates safe, natural byproducts, such as water, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and oxygen. That’s cleaner, purer air.
This natural occurrence has been difficult for the scientific community to effectively replicate, until now. Bahamians can now use hydroxyl air decontaminators that mimic nature’s process for cleaning our atmosphere. No more using chemicals to fight germs and pollutants. We can breathe easy.
Where can hydroxyl air decontaminators help us? They are suited for the toughest commercial challenges, and are also available for home use. Here are a few missions that nature’s foot soldiers excel at:
Neutralise the smoke from widespread fire damage.
Destroy the smell from sewer, garbage and water damage.
Sanitise viruses and bacteria - from commercial andinstitutional kitchens to restaurant kitchens.
Remediate mold and eliminate the odour.
Deal with diesel fumes, head smells and cooking odours on boats and yachts.
Reduce allergens in the air.
Keep office staff healthier, which means less absenteeism, less illness, more productivity and higher job satisfaction.
Hydroxyl air decontaminators have a very low operating and maintenance cost, often running on less than 2 amps. The crisp, fresh atmosphere they produce generally lowers energy associated with air conditioning. They also are designed for use in occupied spaces. High quality ones, such as the Odorox technology, are even FDA approved. These factors make them ideal in large industrial settings as well as in small businesses and homes.
Our air is a precious resource that enables us to survive. Bahamians can now make use of hydroxyl technology that enables us to create a healthier, cleaner environment – not only for the benefit of ourselves, but for generations to come. Now we can breathe easy.
