TRACK: FINAL CARIFTA TRIALS ALL SET FOR THIS WEEKEND

THE Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations is all set to hold its final trials for those athletes wishing to make the CARIFTA team heading to Georgetown, Grenada, over the Easter holiday weekend.

The trials are scheduled to be held at the Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium, starting at 5pm on Friday. The event is expected to continue at noon on Saturday.

Following the trials, the BAAA will select the team and make the official CARIFTA announcement on Sunday.

The BAAA is hoping that when the team is selected, the Bahamas will be able to improve on the second place finish with a total of 31 medals, inclusive of eight gold, 13 silver and 10 bronze at the Silver Jubilee Stadium in Bird Rock, Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis.

Jamaica once again dominated the meet by winning with 86 medals (42 gold, 25 silver and 19 bronze).
