POLICE Commissioner Ellison Greenslade was yesterday tightlipped regarding his investigation into an alleged murder for hire plot and would not reveal who, if anyone, has been questioned over the last few days.
However, he told The Tribune that he assigned very competent investigators who will seek to interview all relevant persons at the appropriate time.
He added that the probe was progressing and he was satisfied with the grounds that police were covering. He said he did not know when the investigation would be complete.
This comes after Free National Movement (FNM) Leader Dr Hubert Minnis said he is not concerned about the government seeking assistance from the United States in probing whether the Peter Nygard/Louis Bacon controversy has any ties to entities in America.
Last week Monday, Commissioner Greenslade told reporters that he had launched an official investigation into allegations that Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard orchestrated a murderous plot against his billionaire neighbour Louis Bacon and lawyer Fred Smith, his chief opponents in an ongoing campaign against development at Nygard Cay.
Both Prime Minister Perry Christie and Deputy Prime Minister Philip Davis’ names were mentioned in secret recordings between Mr Nygard, Livingston “Toggie” Bullard and Wisler “Bobo” Davilma.
The recordings were submitted along with a 400-page affidavit filed by several directors of Save the Bays earlier this month.
Mr Greenslade said the prime minister has spoken directly to a lead detective to indicate his level of discontent. Meanwhile Mr Davis has said he did meet with police on the matter but maintains he was not questioned.
Bullard and Davilma identified themselves as high profile gang members in court documents and allege that Mr Nygard gave them a “hit list” of people to murder or “send a message” to.
Mr Greenslade previously said the independent investigation would determine whether there is anything of a criminal nature that the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) should be pursuing.
He also said last week that he received no complaints from anyone in any of the affidavits who claimed their lives were threatened or any reports from anyone who had information of someone doing a “wrong deed”.
He also said that as a result of this investigation several persons “could be arrested and charged or worse”.

Comrade Commish according to the most disturbing disclosures made by the media sources, all claiming to have been lifted directly off the pages of just the court documents already filed, that this in itself - without the media's claims that there remains a sea of further revealing disclosures yet to be filed with the courts, shouldn't you have some concern, why the public will have little confidence that an investigation which is guaranteed to be heavily weighed-down under a dark cloud of local politics - can, or should be, conducted by a police force - of which itself cannot deny - its own long history of being deeply rooted in local politics and with the well-connected politically, along with those possessing wealth?
Commish you should be able to rest assured, why its hardly likely for Save The Bays to step forward with their group's objection to England's Scotland Yard being called-in to lead the investigation?
