Higgs and Longhorns rout Alabama State 86-42 to advance

LASHANN Higgs and her No.2 ranked in the Bridgeport Region, Texas Longhorns, dominated in the opening round with an 86-42 win over Alabama State.

The freshman guard finished with 10 points as the Longhorns advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament for the third-straight season. They will face the region’s No.10 ranked team, the Missouri Tigers, 9pm tonight in a game broadcasted live on ESPN.

The 44-point win tied Texas’ largest margin of victory in the NCAA tournament since playing No. 15 seed Hampton on March 23, 2003.

It was the first time this season that all eligible players on the Texas roster scored at least two points.
