TWO illegal firearms have been seized and five men are in custody after two discoveries by police in New Providence on Friday.
Shortly after midnight on Friday, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team (SET) uncovered a .22 rifle with 75 rounds of ammunition from behind a nightclub during an operation on Faith Avenue South. No one was arrested in connection with the find but investigations continue.
In the second incident shortly after 10pm, officers from the SET assisted by CSI officers, conducted a search of an abandoned building during an operation on Ida Street and uncovered a .45 pistol. Five men were taken into custody in connection with this discovery.
