A FULL military funeral service will be held on Friday for the late Sergeant Donna Burrows at 10am at the Church of the Ascension, West Beach Drive, Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Sgt Burrows joined the Royal Bahamas Police Force on June 9, 1976, after being recruited in New Providence. She retired on January 10, 2009, after serving 33 years.

Her love for country and devotion to the police force and the people of the Bahamas prompted her to enlist as a police reservist after her retirement. She was promoted to Inspector and later reserve Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Among those viewing her body in repose in the Compstat Room at the Gerald Bartlette Complex, Police Headquarters, on Thursday were Minister of National Security Dr Bernard Nottage and Senior Assistant Chief Commissioner Emrick Seymour.

From noon until after the procession passes on Friday, the southbound lanes of Coral Road between Pioneer’s Way and Sun Coral Lane will be closed to traffic.
