REGULATORS TAKE 3-2 LEAD IN THE NPBA

THE Mr Ship It Freight Regulators took control of the NPBA Division I series with a dominant performance on Monday night and are now a game away from the 2017 title.

The frontcourt duo of Gamaliel Rose and Eugene Bain were again a force in the paint for the Regulators and sparked the 101-88 win over the Mail Boat Cybots in game five at the AF Adderley Gymnasium and take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Rose finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three blocks while Bain finished with 13 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. Brian Bain was also stellar on the wing with 22 points, Miguel Mackey had 19 points, seven assists, and five steals while Dion McPhee had nine points off the bench.

Ernest Saunders led five Cybots in double figures with 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Also for Mail Boat, Lerecus Armbrister had 18 points and nine assists, Livingston Munnings had 14 points, 12 rebounds, and six steals, Delvonne Duncombe scored 12 and Dominique Beadle had 10 points and seven rebounds.

The advantage on the boards sparked a 21-point turnaround in the second quarter that saw the Regulators move ahead for good. They closed out the fourth quarter on a 22-10 run to win their second consecutive game by double figures.

Either the Regulators will have an opportunity to close out the series or the Cybots will stay alive and force a deciding game when the teams take to the court in game six tonight.
