FINANCIAL LEAGUE
THE Financial Bowling League completed its quarter-final round last night with Leno Corporate Services vs Deloitte & Touché & Rubis Oil Stars taking on the defending champions Moonlight Strikers.
Rubis Oil Stars, led by team captain Micah Hepburn, surprised the defending champions 3-0 in their best-of-5 series thereby eliminating Moonlight out of the playoffs in a first round shocker.
Hepburn, who carried a 145 league average, was on fire during the series and lit up the pins for an impressive 170 average for the evening.
In the other game, Deloitte, led by Bonnette Knowles, survived a scare by defeating Leno in the final two games to win their series 3-2.
Next week, Rubis takes on the Strike Force with Deloitte facing Forsythe Communications. Three games will be played on Wednesday and two games if necessary on Thursday.
BASKETBALL
BAPTIST SPORTS
THE Baptist Sports Council will close out its 2017 Basketball League regular season action on Saturday, starting 10am at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.
Games will be played in the 15-and-under, 19-and-under and men’s divisions.
The sudden playoffs will be held on Saturday, May 6 with the best-of-three championships to follow.
RUGBY
EXHIBITION GAME
THE Bahamas Rugby Union will hold an exhibition game on Saturday at the Winton Rugby Pitch when the Nassau Renegades take on the London Law Society RFC from the United Kingdom.
NPOTA SOFTBALL
THE NPOTA League opens this Saturday at 11:30am. At noon on April 29, Lone Rebels take on Sharks and the Yelrom Home Boys face Crusaders at 3pm. At 1pm Sunday, Coors Light v Q-Club Divers and Da Boyz v Dozer Pros at 3pm.
