BLTA congratulates Kerrie Cartwright on reaching doubles final

The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association has congratulated Kerrie Cartwright after she reached a doubles final on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Women’s Circuit.

She teamed up with American Karianna Pierre-Louis in the doubles of the $15,000 Les Contamines-Montjoie Tournament in Les Contamines-Montjoie, France where they lost to the top ranked German team of Tavisiya Morderger and Yana Morderger 2-6, 6-4 (10-7) in the final.

Cartwright also advanced to the quarterfinal round in the singles event where she lost to Yana Morderger, the No.5 ranked player, 6-4, 6-0 in the quarter-final.

Cartwright has represented the Bahamas at the Fed Cup event in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013 and also served on Jr. Fed Cup national teams from 2005-2007.

She also had the distinction of serving on Team Bahamas that won the Fed Cup Group II tie in 2008, 2011 and 2013.

Cartwright held the number one spot in Bahamas Women’s tennis for a few years and most recently in 2014.

“We wish Kerrie continued success on the ITF Women’s Circuit,” the BLTA wrote in a press release.
