Executives from the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) joined National Culinary Team representatives and the team's sponsors to pay a courtesy call on Governor-General, Dame Marguerite Pindling.
The gathering was in honour of the National Culinary Team's recent success at the premier Caribbean Culinary Competition, Taste of the Caribbean.
The chefs are sponsored by their respective employers, who represent a wide cross-section of hotel properties and institutions in the Bahamas. They include the University of the Bahamas' CHMI; Atlantis; Baha Mar; Courtyard Marriott; Sandals Royal Bahamian; and the One and Only Ocean Club.
In addition to the chefs' corporate sponsors, the National Culinary Teams' participation is made possible through partners and sponsors such as the Ministry of Tourism; Cable Bahamas (Rev On); Sandals Royal Bahamian; Bahamian Brewery (Sands Beer); Bahamas Food Services; Bahamasair; Betty K Shipping; Cassava Grill; and Manuelo's Lettuce Eat Fresh.
