POLICE on Bimini arrested a 25-year-old man on Monday who is suspected of firearm and ammunition possession.

Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that police were on mobile patrol in Alice Town shortly after 2am on Monday when they saw a suspicious-looking vehicle parked in the middle of the road.

She said that a man got out of the vehicle and ran, prompting officers to give chase. The suspect was caught and during a search of the area, officers discovered a black .380 automatic pistol with six rounds of ammunition.

Insp Pinder also reported that a short time later, officers acting on information, discovered a .380 pistol with four rounds of ammunition while in the area of Bailey Town.
